Wish I may, wish I might

Wish I may, wish I might

I wish . . .

. . .  that my hair magically dried by itself into a wearable style minutes after I got out of the shower. It would truly take minutes out of my getting ready schedule. But I’m getting a haircut today, so it will dry faster tomorrow.

. . . I could teach Muffin that barking at that cocker spaniel and EVERY OTHER DOG that walks by is not an acceptable pastime. But she’s almost 10 and I don’t foresee her stubbornness and propensity to bark going away.

. . . I hadn’t felt like such a wimp when I ran yesterday. Dude, I was sucking air big time. Not a pretty sight.

. . .  the Cardinals could continue to play above their heads and pull out some post-season play, but I’m a little doubtful.

. . . that I had made my bed before I ran out of the house LATE this morning.

. . . for tougher penalties for offenders AND world peace.

. . . I could stay awake all night and watch the Olympics.

. . . that I could judge whether my crush on Michael Phelps is just regular fandom or reaching scary, inappropriate levels. But he gets to eat something like 8000 to 10000 calories A DAY. So not fair! But he also spends like 5 or more hours swimming, while I spend five or more hours. . . .sitting.

. . . I didn’t have this weird idea that when you go to the salon to get a haircut, your hair has to look amazing so that your stylist will know that you are not a total spaz at hair care and styling. Because the reason you’re going is because your hair needs to look better. So why spend all this time trying to make it look amazing to go to the salon? Yet I do, every time I go to see Andrea.

. . . that I knew what the next step in this walk of faith was.

. . . that I was not behind schedule on everything I work on.

. . . that I could have slept in. When the alarm went off, I actually told it that it was too early. I don’t think the clock cared, though. But Muffin. Wow. She was ready to get up as soon as the alarm went off. Crazy early morning dog.

. . . that I could give you all a big hug. So consider yourselves hugged!

  1. Your hair might take forever to dry, but I’ve always loved it!!! I remember when it was long, and I would play “Pantene Commercial” with your hair! :-)

  2. you make your bed in the morning? i’ve slept out on my couch the past two nights because my bed doesn’t have any sheets on it. i washed two sets over the weekend, but haven’t put any back on.

  3. You are a sad, sad person! I would never wake up if I slept on my couch. Well, I would, just WAY late. I try to make my bed, but it hasn’t happened for the last two days. My mother would be so disappointed in me!

  4. I did stay up watching the Olympics – till well after midnight. US Men’s Gymnastics team pulled out a Bronze, even without the Hamm brothers! I’m sure I’ll be up late tonight watching Phelps grab a couple more golds and rooting for the Women’s Gymnastics team.

  5. Oh girl, if you feel you have to make your hair perfect, never never never get a maid. You will kill yourself. ;)

I actually fell asleep on my couch for the first time in a long time. Some of it had to do with the Olympics, and some of it had to do with me being too lazy to get up and go to bed. I actually woke up at 2am and went to my bed.

  6. I know. My mom had a lady who dusted and vacuumed the house for awhile when we were kids/teens. We killed ourselves the day before she came straightening up for her. :)
I’ve found my couch is a great place to nap, but I usually try not to fall asleep there. B/c of the whole I-wouldn’t-get-up thing! :)

  7. Thanks for the hug! I have never been so addicted to the Olympics! I watched water polo for the first time ever yesterday…now that is a crazy sport! Those girls looked like they were trying to drown each other. Very entertaining. :)

  8. I think the Olympics are going to kill me! I HAD to stay up watching the men’s gymnastics last night. I actually took a nap after work so I can stay up to watch the women’s gymnastics.

Maybe the government should declare the Olympic games national paid holidays or something. Actually, I could settle with just working half a day!
