So it’s Fat Tuesday, there’s king cake in Juan’s room, it’s Super Tuesday and I still have no idea who I’ll vote for in the primary, and I have nothing really of importance to say. Except this: Bobby Knight retired! Since I come from a long line of NCAA basketball fans who have hated the Bobby, I have to say it gives me a bit o’ pleasure that he finally threw in the towel (and his trademark sweater). Bye, Bobby! The Big 12 will miss your temper tantrums, red face, glares, and scandals (sometimes involving throwing chairs or punching players).

So did Mr. Knight’s announcement overshadow the mourning from the KU vs. MU game? Or have you just succumbed to the fact that MU will lose when they play KU? (Sorry, I’m married to a Jayhawk fan, I secretly root for Mizzou while the game is on, I promise!)

Wow. Married to a Jayhawk fan? That’s on my list of things my someday-maybe husband can’t be! (I jest. I jest!) (Well, not entirely. He also can’t be a Cubs fan. And he has to love Jesus.) I am in mourning, but was pretty much already convinced the Mizzou would lose because Kansas is so good and we’re in a “rebuilding” period with Mike Anderson. Plus many of the players had just been in that stupid bar fight. Silly, silly college boys.

In my defense, he wasn’t really a Jayhawk fan when we got married. He wasn’t really into college ball at all until recently and since he’s a KS native I think he feels obligated. Actually, I think it’s stupid, stupid college boys, but that’s my opinion. Bunch of idiots if you ask me. They are rebuilding, and Mike Anderson seems like a good coach. We didn’t lose as badly when they played in Columbia. It just sucks because it’s Kansas and I really, really hate Kansas. Oh well….
